I always do diffrent kinds of cardio- bike, treadmill, stairs- so your body does not get used to any one type same goes for diffrent types of weightlifting.

You can buy an inexpensive heart rate monitor- I've seen them is Sports Authority for $30-40.00

I look at it this way, If you can run longer than 20 miniutes you are not doing it right, you need to up the intensity. C.
