Marvin Edeas - Ncbi
Marvin Edeas - Chair of the French Society (SFA) and International Society of Antioxidants (ISANH) and Founder of the World Mitochondria Society (WMS)
Marvin Edeas, ISANH and the SFA aim to transfer basic research to real applications whether clinical, pharmaceutical, nutritional or cosmetic. Coupled with being dedicated to their applications in preventative and therapeutic treatments, the SFA encourages the use of antioxidants in nutrition and health. Scientific studies on mitochondria, oxidative stress, microbiota, inflammation, differentiation, cell signalling, Nrf2 transcription factors activation and their significance in different pathologies are the main focus of his research. The connection between mitochondria and microbiota is his central focus. Marvin Edeas is the founder and Chair of the ISANH (International Society of Antioxidants in Nutrition & Health) which was formed in the year 1998.
The research he does mainly looks at the impact of oxidative stress and inflammation in chronic diseases. Marvin Edeas works with INSERM, CNRS and Paris Descartes University in the Department of Development, Reproduction, Cancer. Bringing in more than 400 participants, Marvin Edeas was chair of the Scientific Committee of the Targeting Microbiota and Mitochondria Congress (2016).
Marvin Edeas - History
Marvin Edeas was a teacher at the Paris 13 Bobigny and Poitiers Universities from 2004 to 2013. He, along with Joe McCord, arranged the very first world congress on Superoxide Dismutase Enzymes or SOD (a topic which rests at the heart of his work) at the Pasteur Institute. Marvin Edeas got his doctorate on HIV infections in asymptomatic patients from Antoine Béclère Hospital in the year 1998.
Oysters and Peptides Derived from Hydrolysates Modulate Oxidative Stress
Marvin Edeas’ discoveries have found a real application. Because of these patents, a start-up company was founded in order to market the peptide. He has a couple of patents filed, in the United States and Europe. The patents of Marvin Edeas pertained to the usage of an oyster enzyme hydrolyzate in a composition that eliminates free radicals and also modulates oxidative stress.
Marvin Edeas - A Globally Recognised Scientist
Marvin Edeas chairs the global conference Targeting Microbiota and Mitochondria. He collaborates with Krakow, Poland's National Center for Science, the Agency of Biomedicine and the Agency for the Evaluation of Research and Higher-Education. The Chair of the International Society of Antioxidants (ISANH) quite logically leads his annual congress, Paris Redox. Many businesses make use of the expertise that Marvin Edeas possesses.
The latency mechanisms of the HIV virus in HIV positive patients, including the activation factors, is an area which he invested six years researching at Antoine Béclère Hospital. Marvin Edeas looked into the role of co-infections and oxidative stress in HIV patients at the Paris Descartes University. For his efforts on HIV, Marvin Edeas was recognised by Sidaction.
