July 2004 (174 lbs, 5'4" tall) - I was in a bad relationship and decided after walking one day that I'd take up jogging. I did. At the same time I realized that I was the only one who could control my life, and from that point decided to watch what I ate. Jogging increased to working out at the gym.
December 2004 - I reached my weight of 138 lbs and maintained that ever since. In July 2005 I found and bought a book called "Body for Life" at a yard sale for $2.00 (what a steal, eh?) and read it, went to the web site and decided to follow the plan it talked about. I started a challenge in September 2005 and finished it in November. I didn't do that great, though I maintained throughout, which is always a good thing. I immediately went into a 6 week mini-challenge and lost about 1% body fat, bringing my body fat to 18.2%. It's a good number, but I'm still not happy with my body.
I'm starting another challenge starting January 3rd, 2006 (still got events to go to up to the 2nd). I don't quite now what my absolute goal should be body fat percentage wise, but I do know that I want to get rid of my tummy. I'm 41 and I've had 4 kids. I look great for my age and with my history, for which I'm truly thankful for. I know that I will need to lose this last 10 lbs of weight in order to get rid of the flab in that area (and let's not forget my butt, shall we?) and in order to lose that weight I really need to follow the plan well.
That means eating clean, PLANNING my food and exercise for the week, dammit! and keeping with the program! Can I do it! I'd like to think I can.
Being accountable will definitely help.
Stay tuned! |
